By adding some mild infrared warmth into the routine before we start any invasive work, we can actually dial down their stress levels.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;Why warmth works&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Think about how a warm bath or a heating pad makes you feel. It&amp;rsquo;s the same idea here. Infrared light sinks deep into the gums and tissues, creating this soothing, internal warmth.&#xA;This opens up the blood vessels, which does two things: it dulls the perception of pain and relaxes the muscles around the mouth. When a child feels that gentle heat, their &amp;ldquo;fight-or-flight&amp;rdquo; mode starts to switch off. Suddenly, you have a patient who&amp;rsquo;s actually cooperating instead of fighting you every step of the way.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;The technical side of things&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Now, you can&amp;rsquo;t just blast them with heat. We use low-intensity settings (specifically in the 660nm to 850nm range) so we don&amp;rsquo;t risk burning the delicate skin in the mouth.&#xA;The goal is to get the energy deep enough to help with blood flow without overheating the surface. Timing is everything here. We keep the sessions short and controlled because too much exposure can actually cause inflammation.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;It&amp;rsquo;s not a magic wand&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Here&amp;rsquo;s the thing: this doesn&amp;rsquo;t work for every single child.&#xA;Some kids are just super sensitive to heat, and for them, the warmth might actually make them more fidgety. You have to read the room and adjust the intensity based on how old the child is and how sensitive their skin feels.&#xA;Plus, you need a clear line of sight.
